Smrekovec is popular for its nearby lodge, easy access and beautiful views. The ridge of Smrekovec is of volcanic origin, so here we can see dark rocks (andesite and tuff). The area also has a specific flora.
Sveti Križ is a scenic mountain located above Bele Vode. From the summit, which features several church buildings and a conversion tower, there is a beautiful view of Golte, Smrekovec, Peca, Uršlja gora and part of Štajerska.
Uršlja gora is a scenic mountain between Slovenj Gradec and Črna na Koroškem. Near the summit stands the Church of St. Ursula, which is the highest-altitude church in Slovenia. At the top, there is also a pleasant mountain lodge. From there, you can reach the summit of Urslja gora in less than five minutes, where is a cross and a viewpoint plaque.
Mozirska lodge is located southwest of Boskovec, the highest peak of the Golte. Since the area around the lodge is mostly surrounded by forest, there is only a partial view towards the south, where the surrounding hills can be seen. Just 100 m from the lodge, there is a large meadow with a chapel. A few years ago the lodge burned down, but now a new one has been build in its place.
Peca is located on the Slovenian-Austrian border above the Mežica Valley in the Koroška region. Slovenians know Peca mainly because of the legend of King Matjaž and his cave on the Slovenian side of the mountain, while Austrians have ski slopes. Since there are no higher peaks nearby, Peca offers beautiful views of Uršlja Gora, Raduha and Kamniško-Savinjske Alps.
Logarska valley is a beautiful alpine valley, located in the Kamniško-Savinjske Alps. It is renowned for its stunning natural scenery, including lush meadows, dense forests and impressive mountain peaks. The valley is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and climbing. The highlight of the valley is the Rinka Waterfall, one of the highest in Slovenia.
